Corporate IT function is serving the IT platform and systems to all part of  business. 60+ systems are in place to run all business operations which are both packaged software and home-grown build. The IT Director is a crucial leadership role that oversees the end-to-end system platform for business. The IT Director is responsible for leading the IT team to deliver platform strategy, IT roadmap, product development, integration, testing, training, on-going support, ensuring system stability and scalable to serve business operation. Aligning IT product roadmap to business plan and priorities. Engaging and managing stakeholder both business and IT (Business unit president, Business Directors and Senior Manager, CTO, VP IT, and related IT colleagues). Ensuring customer and users satisfaction, maximizing the value delivered by the IT team. As a people management role, IT director – need to deliver talent development, provide coaching and guidance to improve team and individual capabilities, provide career growth opportunities to the team. Great leadership, strong communication, business mindset and people management skills with ability to manage internal and external team and business are required for this role.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Strategy and IT Product Roadmap: Develops and articulates a sharp vision for the systems portfolio, aligning it with the company’s vision and business strategic short/long term goal.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement & Management: Regularly communicates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of IT plan to synchronized with business priorities.
  3. Delivering the Robust system platform: Lead the team to deliver
  • Product Roadmap and product management
  • The right platform design and practical to serve the end-to-end business operation with good performance and improve work productivities of business users – right system architecture.
  • The high quality of coding with meeting all security requirements and business requirements
  • The quality of testing & QA
  • The key user training and uplift user skills
  • On-going support and ensure system availability
  • Continuous improvement based on feedback from customers/users
  1. Grow IT team capability and capacity: Lead, supervise and provide support to IT team. Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of team works. Regularly reviews team performance against objectives as well as executing and supporting the personal development plan. Accountable for recruitment, putting the right man to the right job, grow team capabilities, capacities and talent development.
  2. Culture of Innovation: Encourages a culture of innovation within IT teams, promoting new ideas and approaches to product development. Keep update technological advancements and industry trends to guide the strategic direction of product development. Adopt new technology to product roadmap.
  3. Agile and Scrum Advocacy: Champion on Agile and Scrum practices across IT teams. Ensure that product development processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with Agile principles.

Financial and Business Acumen: Oversee IT product financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and return on investment analysis. Make data-driven decisions to maximize business value and product performance. Including the business case justification for any IT investment in area. 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering. Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or MBA is highly preferred.

Work Experience & Skills

  1. 15+ years of various IT career including IT management, with experience working in Scrum framework using Agile methodology.
  2. Experience in leading the IT team for home-grown software build end to end cycle with track record on successful delivering IT systems that are used by the business users or customers.
  3. Experience in managing product portfolio with defining the product vision.
  4. Experience on managing senior stakeholder and c-level.
  5. Experience in Program/Project management is preferable.
  6. Certified Scrum Master, ITIL, PMI is preferable
  7. A strong foundation in software development and programming would be an advantage.
  8. Great leadership, excellent communication and strong people management skills is required

Actively seek out ways to make continuous improvements to work processes to overcome obstacles, improve performance and achieve or exceed agreed goals for product owner team. Actively and appropriately use company concepts, tools, data bases and opportunities to drive continuous improvement.

Build relationships and alliances at multiple levels within IT and business team. Use networks and connections to build appropriate wide-spread understanding and support for your ideas and approaches.  Getting everyone onboard what you need them to do. Plan and take specific actions to get the buy-in of key influencers and to minimize resistance to your ideas and approaches.

Take actions to encourage a climate of development in product owner team. Personally demonstrate a ‘development’ mindset and ‘walk the talk’ by setting development challenges for yourself and sharing progress with your team. Provide clear guidance on skilled knowledge and competencies needed in individual roles, actively encourage individuals to assess and define their own development needs and interests, help individuals set specific development goals and provide ongoing developmental feedback and coaching to individuals. Actively and appropriately use company HCM concepts, tools, and opportunities to guide the development of others.
